Tell us, We'll Tackle It - Report Discrimination

Tackling Discrimination - 2023/24 Strategy

We're working towards combatting discrimination in grassroots football across Berkshire & Buckinghamshire.

Berks & Bucks FA does not tolerate discrimination in any form and is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment For All.

As a County FA, we take our responsibility to lead, protect and support participants in grassroots football seriously. We all have an obligation to ensure that discrimination is eradicated from football and, while there is no single or easy way to achieve this, we believe that by working with our network of Clubs and Leagues to tackle the issue on multiple fronts we have the power to remove this blight from our game.

Discrimination Strategy 2023/24

As we move into the 2023/24 season, we've launched a new strategy outlining our commitment towards working to combat discrimination in the grassroots game across our region.

The new strategy pulls together several core strands including; increasing awareness and confidence in reporting discrimination, the sanctions imposed for proven offences, providing greater support to victims of discrimination throughout the disciplinary process and, working alongside our member Clubs & Leagues to promote greater inclusion and representation across our game.

Alastair Kay, Head of Governance at Berks & Bucks FA, said: “We will not tolerate discrimination and remain committed to ensuring everyone involved in grassroots football is able to participate in safe, fun and inclusive environments. Sadly, there is no quick solution or magic bullet that will achieve this, but we believe that by taking a holistic view of the issue and promoting inclusion and representation across the game we can have a greater impact both on and off the pitch.”
