Safeguarding and Welfare

SAFEGUARDING IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY

Everyone in football has a responsibility to make our game safe and enjoyable.

This is particularly true for coaches. A coach is in a privileged position. The nature of the role means he/she can have significant influence over children and young people and develop relationships of trust with children and their parents/carers. It’s therefore important that coaches understand their safeguarding responsibilities.

Find out how The FA and the Berks & Bucks FA manages safeguarding nationally and locally. You’ll also find detailed information on the game’s safeguarding strategy, and how it applies to you.
