Protecting the Integrity of the Game

Protecting the integrity of the game

As the Governing body for the sport, we are responsible for ensuring that the Rules and Regulations of the Football Association and the integrity of the game in Berks & Bucks is upheld.

We are here to support your journey in football by leading and protecting the game and in turn making it a safer and enjoyable environment for you to stay involved for a lifetime.

Football is a contact sport and a passionate game, and sometimes match officials and the County FA are forced to take disciplinary action against our participants when they overstep the line.
On these pages you can find Frequently Asked Questions about football discipline, along with the relevant sections of The FA handbook which governs on- and off-field discipline and a series of one-page reference guides produced by the Berks & Bucks FA covering the key disciplinary procedures at Step 5 and below.

If you have any questions relating to discipline at Step 4 and above, please contact The FA directly via Discipline@TheFA.com

Reporting Concerns

If you feel that an adult connected to your league or club (e.g. a referee, coach or a volunteer) is mistreating someone under the age of 18, there are various confidential ways you can report this.

By ‘mistreating’, we mean behaving towards under-18s in a physical or verbal way you believe is threatening or makes the young person feel scared or bad.

Find out more and watch a short film The FA has produced explaining how to report your concerns. Of course, everything is completely confidential.
