Autism Insights with Talkback

As part of our commitment to driving inclusion, the team at BBFA undertook Autism Insight Training.

The dedicated Autism Insight Training covered the basic presentations of Autism Spectrum Condition and insight into what it is like to live with autism.

In addition to looking at adjustments that can be made so that more autistic people can participate in sporting activities, was delivered by Sue Pigott and Nicola Martin of Talkback UK.

Talkback UK is an autism and learning disability charity. They strive to create an inclusive, professional setting and challenge mainstream thinking when it comes to disability and autism. Their sole purpose is to make the lives of autistic individuals and those with a learning disability better.

Rod Noble, Football Development Officer at Berks & Bucks FA, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Sue and her team for coming in and delivering this training.

“We are extremely passionate about ensuring that football is open and accessible. This training is another step in the right direction, we are now looking into the opportunity of being able to roll out a bitesize version of this training for our clubs so that we can ensure that football is truly for all.”
