The Butterfly Fund offers £250 funding to clubs upon the completion of three actions selected from our ‘Actions List’, within one year of submission. This fund is now open and it’s simple to apply. 

BBFA is committed to help clubs continue to drive development and innovation during the 2020/21 season. Launched today, the Butterfly Fund allows clubs to select actions which match their own development aspirations and offer the opportunity to work with BBFA staff members to successfully complete these shared goals.

Born from the former Club Action Plan programme this fund will now further link clubs with supporting officers who will assist clubs throughout the process. Our list of actions has expanded and includes a diverse range of objectives each focused on a different area of the game including Football Development, Coach Education, Safeguarding, Refereeing, Social Media and more.

Non-Charter Standard Clubs can apply for this fund however they must complete a fourth additional action of becoming Charter Standard accredited.

BBFA staff member, Jonathan Coles, who serves as the programme lead said: “I’m delighted to announce the launch of the Butterfly Fund today. It’s exciting to work with clubs directly to complete these actions and I can’t wait to see which tasks clubs will select.”

It is expected that this fund will be over-subscribed and applying does not guarantee that your club will be approved. We will notify clubs within two weeks of applying if their application was successful.
