The local qualifying event of The FA’s Pokémon Youth Futsal Cup was held in Reading last week

This season see’s the return of The FA Pokémon Youth Futsal Cup. The Pokémon Futsal Youth Cup by England Football gives young players across the country the chance to get involved in this energy-packed game, compete against other teams and go all the way to the national finals.

The competition starts with a local qualifying event with the winners moving on to the Regional Heats before the National Finals in the summer. 

The Berks & Bucks FA local qualifying event took place on 21st & 22nd February 2022 at Arborfield Green Leisure Centre in Arborfield, Reading. Across five age categories, 22 teams entered which in turn saw 200 players take part in the event across both days. There were 56 games and an amazing 295 goals scored in total!

Congratulations to the winners of the following age categories:

Boys Under 10- Burnham Junior
Girls Under 12- Blewbury Amazons
Boys Under 12- Wokingham & Emmbrook
Boys Under 14- Holmer Green
Boys Under 16- Holmer Green    

Well done to all 200 players who took part. For many teams and players, it was the first taste of Futsal and it was fantastic to the see the incredible individual skills, team work and creativity on display.

The winner teams will now move onto the Regional Heats which take place on May 21st/22nd 2022 at Medway Sports Centre in Kent.

The event was a brilliant spectacle to be a part of and we would like to thank the teams for taking part and also the players, coaches , spectators, referees and the leisure centre for creating such a positive environment across both days leaving each player with great memories.
