The moment is here. The historic Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup Final returns after a three-year hiatus following the coronavirus pandemic.
The 144-year-old competition is the County's most prestigious football competition, with teams from the EFL and National League Structure competing to be crowned the top men's side in the region.
This year's Final will be held on Saturday May 7th at 3:00pm (kick-off) at Arbour Park in Slough, home ground of current holders, Slough Town FC.
In the Final, Ascot United FC and Reading FC will each compete to be crowned 2021/22 Senior Cup champions.
Reading FC will be hoping they can right the wrongs of the 2018/19 season where they finished runners up to Slough Town FC the last time the Final was contested.
With the club having previously secured the title of Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup winners on three separate occasions, including the inaugural season in 1878/79, they will have their sights squarely on adding a fourth title to their tally. With their last win coming in 1994/95 (again, against Slough Town FC) the club's exciting U23 Academy side will have their sights firmly on securing victory against lower league opposition.
Step 5, Ascot United are into their first Final in their debut season in the competition having seen off higher opposition multiple times throughout the earlier rounds. The latest, their Semi-Final outing against League One opponents Wycombe Wanderers, where the Yellamen secured a 3-1 penalty shootout win in front of 1,200 home supporters.
For Ascot, they will be hoping the magic of the cup can see them take that final step to raising a trophy claimed by some of the region's greatest grassroots and professional clubs over time and secure their name in the history books.
Will you be there to see it?
