Pledge Project - October
The new season is now in full swing and we are delighted to announce two new BBFA Disability Pledge Clubs. Ascot United and Delaford Colts FC have signed up to the programme and committed to help us raise awareness of disability football across the region.
Ascot United is one of the largest clubs in the region and the Community Charter Standard Club has once again showed their commitment to football development by pledging to work towards starting disability football within then club. We are delighted to have Ascot United on board and look forward to help achieve their ambitions within disability football.
Delaford Colts FC are an Iver based club founded in 1980. The Charter Standard Club we’re very keen to sign up for the Pledge Project and have pledged their support to raise awareness in their local area by sharing our BBFA Disability Club Directory on their website, social media platforms and in hard copy within their playing facilities. The club is a welcome addition to the pledge family!
We thank both clubs for their Pledges and look forward to working with them to raise awareness of Disability Football across the region. As an added incentive, both clubs will also be eligible for our Discount Football Kits Voucher scheme. Clubs that complete their pledges will receive a voucher to be spent on the website as an added thank you from us.
Taking part in the Pledge Project is easy; clubs and leagues can make a pledge that suits the ambitions of the organisation. The pledge can be as big or small as the organisation decides but all pledges, regardless of size, will contribute to raising awareness of Disability Football.
There are three areas we are asking clubs to support; Awareness, Coach Education and Playing Opportunities.
Pledges don’t have to cost anything to the organisation and can require little time to complete but could have a big impact. In its simplest form an organisation could pledge to display the BBFA Disability Football Club Directory in their clubhouse. We have these professionally printed and ready to send out to clubs. By promoting this Club Directory a Player, Parent or Coach from the local region might see this and lead to a player with a disability getting involved with a local disability club.
BBFA will support these organisations with their Pledge commitment and thank the committees for signing up to the Pledge Project.
