Festivals of fun
Our Farnham Park Girls' Festivals are flying high!
Launched in September 2018 by the Berks & Bucks FA with support from the Berkshire Girls League and the Bucks Girls League – as well as local Wildcats Centre, teams and clubs, our monthly Girls' Football Festivals are flying!
The festivals were started to give a monthly opportunity for girls to come to a central location and play friendly and fun matches against each other. The festivals have provided the opportunity for many of the girls to play their first ever match after starting to play football during the 2018 Wildcats programme.
The monthly festivals take place at Farnham Park Playing Fields (SL2 3BP), 10am-12pm on the last Saturday of each month (excluding December 2018) with pitches for both the U8’s and U10’s age groups.
Stephen Hale of George Green Juniors, said: “George Green Juniors FC were one of 6 centres chosen to become a Wildcats Centre locally in the Slough area. From this we have built a great nucleus of girls who want to have fun, enjoy, develop and play football. One thing was missing; matches against other girls.
"This is where the Berks & Bucks FA assisted by setting up Girls Festivals on a monthly basis at Farnham Park. The girls have loved playing on a regular basis against other teams and the set up along with the organisation has been 1st class.”
