Reading Football Club Community Trust since 2016, have given grassroot clubs the chance to create and support Inclusive disability football sessions to enhance more young people through to adults to engage playing football in a safe, fun and social environment.  The trust is again on the lookout for clubs, who are interested in this initiative across Berkshire.

Club Benefits:

Qualified FA Coaches to deliver and support coaches
10 weeks free coaching
CPD Opportunities -  FA Disabled Footballers Course
Playing in local Disability Festivals - BOBi League

David Leno, Thatcham Tornadoes Inclusive Manager said: "The work that Reading FC's Disability Team, particularly Craig Peters, put in with us at the start has been one of the core reasons we have seen numbers and player enjoyment levels increase.

"As a club we continue to grow our offerings to the local community and Inclusive Football has been the kick start of many other initiatives covering the broad spectrum football can offer. Reading's continued support has enabled us to expand the Inclusive offering to different age groups and we are regularly referred to by local educational organisations to assist parents with out of school sporting activity, in this case Football".

Jonathan Coles, Disability Football Development Officer for Berks & Bucks FA, said: "Reading FC’s Inclusive Club Programme has played an important part in the growth of disability football throughout Berkshire.

"Starting a disability football session from scratch with no prior experience in this area can seem daunting but volunteer coaches benefit from the shared knowledge and experience offered over the 10 week partnership.

"This programme has supported several grassroots clubs kick-start a thriving disability football section and I’m happy to promote this opportunity to our affiliated clubs."
