Referee Development Officer

Location: Abingdon (OX14 1SG) - with travel across Berkshire & Buckinghamshire as required and opportunities for remote working.
Salary: Band 4 (£25,515 - £31,185) per annum, dependent on experience.
Hours:
35 hours per week. (Requirement to work evenings and weekends, in line with the demands of the role.)
Contract: Full time - Fixed Term Contract (Expiring June 2028).

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead on the planning and implementation of retention strategies and supporting the progression of talented referees to join us as the Referee Development Officer. 


Main responsibilities 

• Identify areas of need for referees across Berks & Bucks FA and manage the delivery of referee retention strategies & CPD opportunities accordingly.
• Actively promote and support referees to progress through the refereeing pyramid by ensuring the effective promotion and delivery of the Referee Progression Pathway.
• Implement strategies to increase the number of active referees from ethnically diverse and historically underrepresented communities and provide support and guidance to the Berks & Bucks FA Inclusion Advisory Group.
 

Who we're looking for...

• Someone who has the ability to strategically work with partner organisations across different sectors to plan and deliver football programmes.
• An individual who has experience of refereeing and/or referee development.
• Someone who has the ability to be able to make rational decisions within remit, and provide creative solutions to challenges

• You have the ability to highlight issues/challenges and identify suitable solutions. 
• You have Skills in creating, delivering and maintaining pathways which support the growth, transition and retention of referees.
