#BBFAStars is a volunteer engagement initiative that aims to recognise and reward the volunteers across the county that the grassroots game in Berks & Bucks depend upon. It uses their inspirational examples and personal stories to raise awareness of the game and encourage new faces to get involved.

It’s a way for us, as the County FA, to say ‘Thank You’. Thank you for all your time, effort and relentless dedication to the game across Berks & Bucks FA. It’s also a way for your peers, friends, fellow volunteers and local communities to recognise the people, often in the background, that help keep their clubs & leagues alive, week-in & week-out.


Who Shines all year round?

The roles we celebrate in #BBFAStars are not always in the spotlight, but the people that take them on often do so through a pure love of the game. #BBFAStars is not only about recognising their individual efforts but also about showing you a side of the game that you don’t often see.

Our latest #BBFAStars Award is for a Chairperson Award. The role of a Chairperson is to oversee the running of the club/league and ensure that it is run efficiently and managed appropriately. They will lead club/league meetings and provide leadership in all areas such as club tournaments, etc.

Other roles to be recognised throughout the year include, Secretary, Welfare Officer, Fixtures Secretary, Player Registrations Officer and more!


How To Nominate

To nominate your Club Chairperson, simply head on over to Instagram and comment on our pinned-post (linked below) with your nomination!

 

It's easy to nominate, simply start your comment with the following: "I nominate @(NAME)... for the #BBFAStars Chairperson Award because..." and then tell us why they should be win!

You only have a few days to get your nominations in and they must include the hashtag #BBFAStars to be eligible. Nominations close at 23:59 on Sunday 26th May 2024.


How Does It Work?

Each month we'll be taking to Instagram and asking for your nominations of those priceless volunteers that the grassroots game in our county depend on week-in, week-out.

The winner of each months category will have their story featured on our website and receive a £20 voucher of their choice from a range of popular online suppliers, such as; Amazon, The Restaurant Choice, Next, Argos, etc.

We'll encourage nominations on Instagram via a pinned post promoting the nomination period and award category. At the end of the nomination period, we will collate all the nominations received and a panel will decide which nominations (maximum of 4) will be put forward to a public poll/vote on Instagram. The vote will take place via stories and will be live for 24 hours and at the end of this period, the winner will be revealed in the vote results.

The winner will be contacted to confirm their prize and to feature their story on the Berks & Bucks FA website. We will also contact all nominees on Instagram to acknowledge their nomination and say thank you.
