Grassroots Football Awards | 2023 Winners Revealed
Football volunteers from across the grassroots game in Berks & Bucks were celebrated this week at the County FA’s annual Awards Ceremony, held at Adams Park, the home of Wycombe Wanderers FC.
Across fourteen categories spanning various areas of the game from Coach of the Year, Grounds Team of the Year to Impact of Football and Outstanding Contribution, this years’ winners were recognised for their extraordinary impact to the sport.
The Grassroots Football Awards provide an incredible an opportunity to celebrate the people who make grassroots football great for everyone. The Awards are our way of recognising the exceptional individuals who put their heart and soul into football across our region and who make a positive difference, for all.
Last season, our volunteers worked hard to show the true power of football in connecting people, changing lives and building communities, enabling more people to participate and it was a pleasure to be able to recognise their passion, dedication and commitment to our local game.

As far as inspiring and emotional nights in football go, this was right up there. Of course, none of it would have been possible without the amazing individuals in attendance, their dedication and passion for local football and their belief in making the future of our game the best it can be.
@berksandbucksfa What a night! An honour to celebrate some of the extraordinary work being done across the grassroots game in our region by some truly inspirational volunteers! Steph Clark, Football Communications Officer at Berks & Bucks FA said: “Events like the annual Grassroots Football Awards are always very special as they provide a wonderful opportunity for us to recognise, thank and celebrate the extraordinary achievements of our dedicated volunteer workforce.
“There are thousands of people involved in the grassroots game across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and South Oxfordshire who dedicate their time and effort to support clubs and leagues in their local communities to ensure grassroots football in our region goes ahead week in and week out. To be nominated for an award alone is a wonderful achievement, to be a shortlisted finalist or category winner is certainly cause for celebration and something everyone can be incredibly proud of – congratulations to everyone.”
Special thanks also go to our guests on the night, Neil Richards (Director of Football) and Doug Page (Director) from Ascot United FC who spoke about the club’s historic victory at Wembley in May this year and shared their experiences of a truly memorable day. They also brought The FA Vase Trophy along with them, where guests were given the opportunity to have photographs taken with the trophy.
Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who gave their time to nominate people. Without people submitting nominations we simply wouldn't have a platform to celebrate all the incredible achievements of our local grassroots volunteers, so a huge thank you goes to everyone who took the time to nominate.
