Searching for your #BBFAStars of the game for March's 'Footie Mum' Award

Nominate someone special for an award.
Nominations to find your local ‘Footie Mum’ star of the game are now open as we celebrate the critical role that mums play in grassroots football for our March #BBFAStars Award!

#BBFAStars is about recognising the inspirational work of volunteers across the county all-year-round.

The ‘Footie Mum’ category in the month of March, which also celebrates International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, is about recognising the critical role that mums play in helping to keep the game alive and enabling their children to play and enjoy grassroots football week-in-week-out.

90% of children play better with positivity and we’re looking for the women in our local game that embody the spirit of this message. Do you know a 'Footie Mum' who deserves recognition for the positive support they give to their child and others at your club?

As well as providing support and encouragement regardless of results on the pitch, ‘Footie Mums’ might also be coaches or committee members, they might be kit washers, helpers on match days, the taxi drivers that make sure their child gets to-and-from training and matches safely, or the friendly welcoming face helping to create the positive environments that make the game enjoyable For All.

To nominate your Mum (or somebody else’s!) for our March Award simply head on over to Twitter (@BerksBucksFA) and reply to our pinned-post with your nomination!

It's easy to nominate, simply start your nomination tweet with the following: "I nominate @(NAME)... for the #BBFAStars Footie Mum Award because..." and then tell us why they should win!

There are just seven days to get your nominations in and they must include the hashtag #BBFAStars to be eligible. Nominations close at 11:59pm on Sunday 15th March 2020.

The roles we celebrate in #BBFAStars are not always in the spotlight; and this initiative is not only about recognising the individuals in those roles, but also focusses on showing the behind-the-scenes side of the game that you don’t often see.

The winner of each month’s award will have their story featured on our website and receive a £20 voucher of their choice from a range of popular suppliers, such as; Amazon, The Restaurant Choice, Next, Argos, etc.

Launched at the start of 2020, our first two #BBFAStars Awards have been for Club/League Secretary and Club/League Welfare Officer. To find out more about the winners of these awards and to read their stories, visit our dedicated #BBFAStars page.
