Do you love football? Perhaps you've playing the game on a regular basis, coaching at your local club or refereeing in your spare time but want to do something more?

Maybe you love football but you are not currently involved and want to get started? 

Whatever your reason, and wherever you are on your football journey, we can help you take the next steps and support you on this adventure to become a future leader of the game; making decisions and shaping the direction of football in Berks & Bucks for generations to come.

Through a combination of Young Volunteer Programmes, leadership opportunities, courses and funding we can help you develop and achieve your goals. 

Below, you will find information on how to join our Youth Leadership Team, a group of young volunteers from Berks & Bucks who run projects and events to help others in the game progress, information about the popular Football Futures Programme and additional details on the appropriate courses and funding available to you.

Volunteering is a great way for young people to develop skills, confidence and qualifications that can be utilised when moving into jobs, careers & university. It can enhance a CV, show a diverse variety of skills on University Personal Statements, help provide you with experiences, that will support you through interviews and a variety of social and formal interactions.

Football in Berks & Bucks is looking for enthusiastic people just like you to take on any number of roles. And football will give back to you too!

Skills and qualities you could expect to develop:

- Managing accounts and budgeting
- Event organisation

Most volunteering roles in grassroots clubs can be undertaken initially with no experience, although some roles do require training and safeguarding checks. In your role as a volunteer, we would encourage you to take up any opportunities for training & qualifications to develop your skills further for the future.

Young Volunteer Programme 

The BBFA Young Volunteer Programme is a programme for young people aged 12-24 years old. Its aim is to recruit and reward young people for their work within football. Any volunteering role within football fits in to the Programme, from Coaches to referees, club secretaries to press officer, Chairperson to website designer. The programme is completely free and offers members a variety of benefits.

Criteria:

  •  Must be aged 12-24
  • Must be volunteering within football (or work with us to find an opportunity for you)
