As part of the new FA Progression Pathway, match officials can opt-in anytime throughout the season.
The new Progression Pathway has been created to support Grassroots Referees (Level 7-6, 6-5 and Y1-Y2) by giving match officials more control over their progression in a developmental culture.
The new pathway replaces the previous annual process, with progression based on:
• Number of appointments
• Completion of online referee development modules
• Support & development offered from Matchday Coach (replacing observations)
• Increased opportunities to progress (4 opportunities throughout the season)
