A lasting legacy

UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 is a huge occasion and potentially transformational event to grow the female game. The power of football is widely recognised, providing benefits surrounding physical and mental wellbeing, and this tournament will enhance opportunities for people within Milton Keynes to get involved through attending matches, sessions within the city and volunteering.

Each host city has formed a legacy group to ensure that there are football provisions available and suitable for all, and Milton Keynes is no different. Key partners from education, local government, professional and grassroots football, plus local public and voluntary sectors have come together to develop and deliver an ambitious Legacy Plan. 

In the build up to the tournament a range of initiatives, sessions and events will take place to accelerate the growth of female football, and ensure we are ready to accommodate new individuals into all areas of the game. This will then create a sustainable system for women’s participation well beyond this delivery of this fantastic event.
