HISTORICALLY UNDER-RESPRESENTED ETHNIC COMMUNITIES (HUEC) REFEREE COURSE

13 new referees from different Ethnic communities completed the Referee Course in October and went through a series of theory and practical sessions.

The course was a huge success and was delivered in the heart of Slough at Singh Sabha Sports Centre, which offered the candidates amazing facilities for their learning experience.

We are proud to have activated this course allowing greater participation and inclusion, whilst acting on our pledge towards Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.

This is in line with the FA National Referee Strategy to Grow, Guide and Govern the Game.

Minesh Gupta, Referee Training Officer, noted “It was a pleasure to deliver to a room of people that looked like me when I was 15 years old. We were able to make the candidates feel comfortable and at ease and I wish them the best of luck as they begin their refereeing journeys”.

The event was supported by members of the FA Refereeing Team, Jarnail Singh & Raj Randhawa, PGMOL match officials Sunny Gill and Bhupinder Gill. We would like to thank them all for their time and knowledge and Singh Sabha Sports Centre for the excellent venue and kind hospitality for the candidates.

As a County FA , we are planning to deliver additional Referee Courses for HUEC candidates. To be kept up to date with these, and all future courses, please register your interest here:
