All Clubs are required to reaffiliate every season to confirm which Teams will be taking part in FA Sanctioned competitions and they have appropriate safeguarding qualifications and insurance in place.

Following two seasons of subsidised affiliation fees thanks to COVID recovery grants from Sport England, there is a standard affiliation fee of £10 per Team across all age groups and formats. Insurance fees have also returned to full value following reductions from Bluefin to account for paused coverage during Covid lockdowns over the past two seasons. 

We strongly encourage Clubs to affiliate as early as possible. There are many benefits to affiliating early in the window, including: 

• It ensures all Teams have insurance coverage in place for preseason fixtures/summer tournaments
• You can beat the rush with player registrations
• Leagues are able to issue fixtures earlier
• Your Cup entries are guaranteed
• You can easily affiliate additional Teams later in the summer using our online form. 

The deadline to submit affiliations and guarantee participation in County Cup competitions is Sunday 31 July 2022. There is a standard entry fee of £10 per Team for County Cups.

If you do miss the deadline of 31 July you will still be able to affiliate; however, you may find there is less time to resolve any outstanding issues and early League fixtures could be delayed. 

Top Tips to Prepare for Affiliation

Get yourself in the best position to affiliate by following our tips below:

1) Agree which Teams are returning for the 2022/23 season, and who will be coaching any new Teams you plan to create
2) Use the Club Portal to check the DBS and safeguarding qualifications for any youth coaches and renew any DBS checks due to expire over the summer
3) Make sure all key Club officials have completed the Safeguarding for Committee Members Course (Youth Clubs)
4) Pay off any outstanding invoices in the Whole Game System
