We are delighted to welcome Sam Myatt to the Berks & Bucks FA team.

Sam joins Berks & Bucks FA as the Referee Development Officer, a role that will see him work closely with referees and our member leagues & clubs to ensure ongoing support, development and communication to all referees.

Joining us from Gloucestershire FA, where he worked as a Football Services Officer, Sam turned to the whistle and started refereeing at 15 years-old in the Gloucester Youth League. He later joined the league as Referee Appointments Officer before going on to become League Chairman the Severn Valley Youth League. He has also spent time mentoring young referees in Gloucestershire.

Having achieved mid-season promotion in 2021-22, Sam is now an active Level 4 Referee and also part of the FA CORE programme.

On his appointment, Sam said; "I am excited to join the team at Berks & Bucks FA and I am looking forward to working with our referee workforce to help recruit and develop referees across Berks & Bucks."

In his role, Sam is responsible for planning and implementing effective recruitment and retention strategies for our referees, supporting the wider refereeing workforce, and aiding the progression of talented referees.
