It is with great sadness that we announce that our President, Bill Gosling, has passed away at the age of 91.
Bill had a long and proud history in football within our region and had been President of Berks & Bucks FA since 2002.
Before becoming President, Bill held several other roles within the organisation including as a Council member, Chairman of the Discipline Committee and as Company Secretary from 1983-1997.
He was also heavily involved in the game outside of the County FA where he served as current President of the North Berks Football League. Much like his commitment to Berks & Bucks FA, Bill also held other positions within the North Berks Football League having also spent time in the role of Referee Appointments Secretary.
Bill’s contribution to local football has been immeasurable and his passing will be felt greatly by all who knew and loved him across the game.
Liz Verrall, CEO at Berks & Bucks FA, said: "I have many fond memories of Bill over the years, a friendly, supportive and knowledgeable person with a great sense of humour. He has given so much to football in the local community. He will be missed by all who met him and worked with him our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time."
From all at Berks & Bucks FA, we offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to his family; daughter Carol and son Nigel at this incredibly difficult time.
He will be greatly missed.
