Giving young people a voice across Berks & Bucks

Berks & Bucks FA are recruiting for the 2019-20 BBFA Youth Council. The BBFA Youth Council are tasked with “Giving Young People a Voice Across Berks & Bucks”

Moving into the 2019-20 season the BBFA Youth Council has been reformatted with the aim of becoming the best County FA Youth Council in England. We are recruiting for up to 8 roles who will serve as the Council for the 2019-20 season, to apply you must be aged 16-24 at the time of application. The roles include: 

Chairperson 

Lead the Youth Council and be the main point of contact for Berks & Bucks FA staff, this role will include additional responsibilities and there will be additional expectation to attend some Berks & Bucks FA Council meetings. 

Secretary 


Responsible for supporting the Berks & Bucks FA staff lead with organisation of the BBFA Youth Council and its members. Additional responsibilities to take notes at meetings and ensure all members are updated with information. 

Media Officer 

Responsible for managing the BBFA Youth Council social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). Additional responsibilities include using different channels to engage and activate young people across Berks & Bucks. 

Inclusion Officer 

Responsible for considering the accessibility of the BBFA Youth Council and all the projects that are delivered, ensuring that the BBFA Youth Council is #ForAll 

Safeguarding Officer 

Responsible for considering safeguarding within the BBFA Youth Council and all projects delivered, ensuring that is always a safe and fun environment for young people 

Project Officer X 3 

Will work wit the council to deliver projects and engage young people across Berks & Bucks.  

BBFA Youth Council Workplan 

The BBFA Youth Council will work as a collective to plan and deliver at least 1 major project within Berks & Bucks that has an impact on Grass Roots Youth Football. The Youth Council will support and lead (where appropriate) on supporting Youth Volunteers within Berks & Bucks FA through the NEW BBFA Young Volunteers Club. 

The Youth Council will also support other work undertaken by the Berks & Bucks FA to ensure a Youth Voice is present in planning and delivery.

If you would like to apply to join the BBFA Youth Council for the 2019-20 season you must be able to commit to attending and joining Youth Council Meetings and Online Meetings. Proposed in-person meetings for 2019-2020 (subject to change): 

1st Council Meeting 
November (Date TBC) 2019 – Berks & Bucks FA HQ (Abingdon) 

2nd Council Meeting 
January (Date TBC) 2020 – Venue TBC 

3rd Council Meeting 
March (Date TBC) 2020 – Venue TBC 

In addition to the in-person meetings you will be expected to join a number of online meetings throughout the season and endeavour to attend additional events you are invited to (where possible).
