FA National Futsal Series comes to town

Four games of the fast-paced game in one day!

The FA National Futsal Series (NFS) rolls into town this week as MK Mavericks Futsal Club host Round 4 of the new national league in Milton Keynes on Sunday 17 November 2019.

MK Mavericks compete in FA National Futsal Series, Tier Two South, of The FA's only official Futsal Series. The NFS operates at tiers one and two of the Futsal competition pathway and comprises of 25 teams playing across three divisions; a national tier 1, underpinned by two regional tier 2 competitions. The league is played as a central venue model with all teams hosting two fixture rounds across the season, giving them the opportunity to welcome teams and spectators from all over their region - giving fans the opportunity to see multiple league fixtures in one day and experiencing the fast-paced excitement of the game.

Hosting the first of their two fixtures, the MK Mavericks event will include four fixtures played at Stantonbury International School Sports Campus (MK14 6BN) throughout the course of the day. 

Steve Punshon, MK Mavericks Head Coach, says: "It’s a special occasion for a young Club to bring the FA NFS to MK. We have achieved an enormous amount in a short time, and it continues to highlight the ambition and commitment of the Club to grow the game across our region. It’s great to see local players given the opportunity to compete at the top level, enjoy every minute!”

MK Mavericks Host Round 4 of The FA National Futsal Series

The Senior MK Mavericks squad features young local talent, including representation from MK College. There is sure to be a full day’s entertainment on the court, with MK Mavericks featuring in the main event (Game 3) against neighbours Bedford Futsal Club, KO 14.50.

Flavio Damasio, MK Mavericks Club Captain, adds: "We are learning and improving with every game, it’s a proud day to be hosting a great event and have so much emerging Futsal talent involved. It’s amazing to believe our Club and region are a part of it!”

The venue opens at 09.30, entry on the door adult £5 and U16 FREE, the Club are running a ‘Celebrate the Mavericks sash’ day and any spectator arriving in a white sports shirt with red sash gains FREE entry! Chelsea kick off proceedings v Baku at 10.30, with further games at 12.40, 14.50 and 17.00.
