Introducing County Development Manager, Liz Pill. Liz talks through her key professional achievements.

With over 25 years experience within voluntary sport and 14 years experience in sport professionally, I feel very fortunate for the people and in some cases role models I have met and influenced me, my behaviours and my pathway. I am a great believer of creating your own opportunity, one door shuts and you then attempt to push another one open, creating your next opening to learn and develop.

A few key achievements professionally that stand out involve the receipt of the telephone call from Dorset FA offering me a full-time role as Football Development Officer in 2004, the delivery of a lottery funded mobile skate park provision during my time at West Dorset District Council, being part of the Bournemouth Schools Games 2012 team co-ordinating 18 county school competitions across 8 venues with the Olympic 2012 torch going through Bournemouth on Friday 13th July 2012, and having the opportunity to be part of a huge change at Berks & Bucks FA in my role as County Development Manager and the daily challenges that are thrown into the mix regarding facilities within the current climate and playing a small part in influencing some of these encounters.

I am an Oxford United fan, spent much of my child hood either at the Manor Ground or representing the team as a player, nowadays in my spare time I am involved in a local grassroots club supporting the development of new girls teams or spending my free time out and about on the family farm.

Those that know me, will know that I love a good quote or two… This is one that I keep pretty close.
“Be grateful for the highs and graceful during the lows".
