NEW BRADWELL ST. PETER CLAIM THE SATURDAY INTERMEDIATE CUP
BUCKS CC 0 NEW BRADWELL ST. PETER 3.

New Bradwell St. Peter, of the Spartan South Midlands League, won the Saturday Intermediate Cup with an emphatic victory over Bucks CC from the Aylesbury & District League at Buckingham Athletic's ground.
In front of an attendance of 214, New Bradwell's claim on the Cup started early on as Will Smith slotted home from the right to make it 1-0 after 7 minutes when the Bucks CC defence hesitated due to the ball bouncing across their own penalty area. New Bradwell continued to dominate possession for most of the first half but Bucks great chance to equalise came on 44 minutes when striker Chris Hill went clean through only to be denied by New Bradwell keeper, Ben Donaldson. In fact it was to be a frustrating afternoon for Hill and strike partner, Sam Ward, as the Spartan League outfit continued to dominate possession in the second half.
New Bradwell should have extended their lead early in the second half when Dave Holloway evaded the offside trap but Bucks CC keeper, Jody Scott, was quickly off his line to force the striker's shot wide. However, Holloway redeemed himself on 63 minutes when his looping header into the top corner of the net made the score 2-0. Bucks responded and gained greater possession for a period with their best chance falling to Andy Kew whose close-in shot firmly stuck in the body of the unbeatable Donaldson. The centre back combination of John Mulholland and Jack Leadbetter were also very solid in the New Bradwell defence as part of a very disciplined performance.
Substitute New Bradwell striker, Joey Acheampong also caused a few problems to the Bucks defence with his runs down the left. After spurning a couple of really good chances, Acheampong finally sent the cup towards New Bradwell St.
Peter as he rounded Scott and placed his powerful shot high into the net to record a great 3-0 victory.
The Cup was presented to New Bradwell skipper Ben Hill by Berks & Bucks Football Association President and Life Member, Bill Gosling, who also gave individual medals to players and officials.
