Continued learning opportunities
Learning and development is an active, continuous process. It's a journey that never ends. And one that is shaped by experiences and learning opportunities gathered anywhere, anytime.
To support your journey, The FA provides a range of learning opportunities for you to engage with. From events in your region to online resources to in situ mentoring, you can access the development support that will make the biggest impact to you and your role.
With no football activities or education courses currently taking place, we have introduced the Online Coaching Programme.
Starting on Thursday 26th March we will be bringing you four free weekly online sessions for coaches to participate in to continue their development as coaches. As things stand, we have scheduled the sessions up until at least the beginning of May and we will continue to monitor government advice as to whether we extend this further.
The format of the sessions is as follows:
• Thursdays - Podcast Live! - 7pm-8pm- Mark Rivers and Richard Brant will be speaking with a guest on their Podcast Live session with opportunity for Q&A at the end the session.
• Saturdays - CPD Webinar - 10am-11am- Hosted by one of our tutor workforce, deliver a online CPD session on a specific topic.
• Saturdays - Coaching Q&A Session - 11am-12pm- Mark Rivers and Richard Brant will be on hand to answer any questions related to grassroots coaching
• Tuesdays - Review the Classics - 1pm-2pm- Mark Rivers and Richard Brant will review a classic game of the past and talk through their opinions of the game along with listeners.
In offering Saturday morning sessions we hope this will provide an alternative to the usual football routine that participants might usually undertake. All sessions will be accessed for free via a live online webinar.

Absolutely. The FA runs events all over the country and for all levels. To explore events please visit our national CPD events page here.
If you're an FA Level 1 or 2 learner, continuous professional development hours are optional and so there is no longer a requirement for licensing .
If you're a UEFA qualified coach, however, you are required to complete 15 hours of CPD every three years to maintain your licence, which The FA recommends is best achieved by completing 5 hours per season
