FA Charter Standard

This is the FA’s accreditation scheme for high quality, well run grassroots football clubs, the aim is to provide a nationally recognised quality control 'kitemark'.

 FA Charter Standard aims to:

  • Improve the quality of provision and enjoyment for everyone
  • Help players and coaches achieve their potential
  • Sustain participation for players for a longer time
  • Raise standards & address abusive behaviour

The FA Charter Standard Levels:

  • FA Charter Standard Club for youth & adult clubs
  • FA Charter Standard Community Club
  • FA Charter Standard Development Club

  • CS Development / Community Clubs have an opportunity to access 50 hours FREE coach mentoring from an FA employed Grassroots coach mentor.

Charter Standard Health Checks

Each year clubs must complete an annual health check to ensure they still meet the Charter Standard criteria.

Any clubs failing to complete their AHC within the timescale will have their Charter Standard status suspended. Submission date for the FA Charter Standard annual health checks 1st December. Clubs charter standard will then suspend if not approved by 31st March.
