BBFA Female Only Level 1 Course

Female coaches start their coaching journey

Everyone will remember their first involvement in football whether you are a player, coach, referee, and spectator and so on… However the first weekend of May 2017 was a first step in the coaching journey of 14 enthusiastic women. On the evening of Friday 5th May, The first coaching session of the female only Level 1 course took place at Langley Academy in Slough. Candidates travelled from neighbouring areas of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire to attend the course, with the exception of one candidate who commuted over 4500 miles from China to attend.

The course was tutored by BBFA County Coach Developer Daniel Fenner whose knowledge and vast experience will guide the candidates on the right coaching pathway during their coaching journeys. A few of the candidates have already volunteered at their local clubs and so the Level 1 qualification will have significant importance to developing their young players as well as their own personal coaching development.

One of our BBFA Development team members caught up with one of the candidates who felt completing the course would be extremely beneficial to her local grassroots club:  “Completing the level 1 would be really great for me as a coach and a person but the real benefit would be to the team I volunteer for on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Old Windsor Tigers u11s.” Alexandra – Old Windsor Tigers
