Berks and Bucks FA Community Awards 2017 Review

Berks & Bucks FA held their annual FA Community Awards at Adams Park, the home of Wycombe Wanderers on June 15th. The evening was a fantastic opportunity for our grassroots heroes to showcase the hard work that they have put in over the season and for the county FA to celebrate those efforts.

The evening was kicked off with an opening speech from our Chief Executive Officer, Liz Verrall, who thanked all of the volunteers in attendance. The first awards of the evening included a range of BBFA categories from Groundsman and Referees of The Year to Welfare Officer of The Year.

Wycombe Wanderers provided the attendees with a fantastic dinner which included a special guest appearance from Kelly Chambers, Reading FC Womens Manager. Head of Delivery, Liz Pill, posed as Parkinson for the evening and quizzed Kelly on a range of topics from her coaching journey to her views on the grassroots game.

Following dinner, The FA’s Community Awards were then presented by a number of our Community & Charity Partners. All in all it was a great evening to recognise and reward volunteers across the county that make a difference to grassroots football within their local community.

Many thanks to all staff, volunteers, clubs and local partners that were involved in the delivery of The FA Community Awards. Please keep an eye out for nominations early next year to recognise your clubs grassroots hero!!
