How to become a Referee Instructor

The Football Association run a number of courses each year to train instructors up to the levels of proficiency required to undertake the various training needs of the Berks and Bucks Football Association.

Nominations for courses are made by the Berks and Bucks Football Association on recommendation from the Referees Association and others.

There are three grades of Instructor:

  • Country Accredited Instructors
  • FA Registered Instructors
  • FA Licenced Instructors

The training team within Berks and Bucks is currently 40 strong ensuring that courses can be run on a frequent basis across the two counties.

For further details of courses, contact Mike Gardiner, County Training Officer by e-mail on mikeagardiner@hotmail.com

All the Instructors across the two counties get together approximately three times a year in a joint meeting between the County FA and County RA to discuss all matters related to instruction and to share best practice.
