The role of Assessors and Mentors is to support the development of Referee's through their progress to higher levels of Refereeing.
Assessors are normally senior Referees who have attended a Football Association Assessors Course which are held annually in the Counties, registration being for 5 years. These Assessors normally guide Referees through their careers up to senior County Referee status.
Berks and Bucks FA has over 80 FA Registered Assessors and 8 Assessors working on the Contributory
A number of senior Assessors may be invited at some stage to progress to higher levels of football and into the professional game.
The next course for new candidates and those with the (now defunct) County Assessors accreditation for FA Assessor Registration is scheduled later in 2004.
A number of Mentor courses will be held during the season and dates will be posted on this web-site
