Criminal Record Checks

It is an FA requirement, that all referees, aged 16 and above, that are officiating in football, must complete a Criminal Records Check and a Safeguarding Children.

It is the responsibility of the individual referee, to ensure their CRC is valid, for the football they officiate on.

The football regulatory authority, approved a policy and issued a renewal of CRC’s every 3 years.

This is a 2 stage process, which requires the individual to start the process online and then having their documents verified.

PLEASE NOTE: No referee will be permitted to register for the coming season, to officiate youth football, without a valid CRC.  – This process can take up to 2 months to complete.
