Sustainability Director

Position: Berks & Bucks FA – Sustainability Director
Location: Our office is based in Abingdon (OX14 1SG) most of the role can be conducted remotely, although meetings are currently face to face.
Salary: This is a voluntary position; reasonable expenses will be paid in line with our policy.
Hours: It is expected that this role will require, on average 5 hours per month.

The opportunity

We are looking for an individual with passion, experience, and dedication to creating a culture of sustainability and “Green” action across the Berks & Bucks FA Football family. The successful candidate will have experience of working within this field of business and will have extensive knowledge of best practice across business and preferably also across sport.

They will be expected to make a significant input into the development of initiatives to support our aspiration to become more conscious of the environment that we live in. The successful candidate will be able to engage and inspire through their excellent communication skills as well as act as a critical friend to the Board in challenging and championing the sustainability agenda.

Main responsibilities 

• To champion environmental sustainability and “Green” activities across business and grassroots football.
• To carry out the duties of a director in accordance with the Companies Act 2006.
• To work with the CEO to develop the overall direction of the Company’s Sustainability efforts, helping to set goals and measure progress.
• Actively contribute to constructive debate and discussions across all board/business matters.
• To act as an ambassador for the Association.

A genuine and reliable person who works with dedication and creatively to achieve the goals of the Association. An individual who is skilled at listening to the views of others and encouraging debate and discussion. We are looking for someone with excellent inter-personal skills and an ability to influence at a senior level. We are looking for someone who is dedicated and experienced at working with females within a business or sport environment.
