Position: Berks & Bucks FA – Independent Non-Exec Director – Females in Football
Location: Our office is based in Abingdon (OX14 1SG) most of the role can be conducted remotely, although meetings are currently face to face.

Salary: This is a voluntary position; reasonable expenses will be paid in line with our policy.
Hours: 
It is expected that this role will require, on average 5-10 hours per month.


The opportunity


We are looking for an individual with passion, experience, and dedication towards creating more opportunities for females to be involved in the game. We have seen an incredible growth in females playing football over the past decade, unfortunately, the number of coaches, referees and club/league officials has not grown to the same extent. We want to change that, and feel with the right candidate in post, we can make a significant change over the next few seasons.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with females in sport and extensive knowledge to the barriers to participation to females in football and business. They will be expected to make a significant input in to the development of initiatives to support our aspiration to be more representative of females within football. The successful candidate will be able to engage and inspire through their excellent communication skills as well as act as a critical friend to the Board in challenging and champion.

Main responsibilities 

To champion the inclusion of Females in Football across the game.
• To carry out the duties of a director in accordance with the Companies Act 2006.
• Actively contribute to constructive debate and discussions across all board/business matters.
• To act as an ambassador for the Association.

Who we're looking for...

A genuine and reliable person who works with dedication and creatively to achieve the goals of the Association. An individual who is skilled at listening to the views of others and encouraging debate and discussion. We are looking for someone with excellent inter-personal skills and an ability to influence at a senior level. We are looking for someone who is dedicated and experienced at working with females within a business or sport environment.
