BBFA and The FA to Host Online Discipline Roadshow

Joint pre-season discipline roadshow to help raise awareness and understanding of FA Disciplinary procedures and regulation changes.

The FA and the Berks & Buck FA will be hosting a joint pre-season discipline roadshow to help raise awareness and understanding of FA Disciplinary procedures and regulation changes

Staff from the Berks & Bucks FA and The FA’s Disciplinary Departments will be coming together to deliver a joint virtual roadshow on Monday 22 August to help raise awareness and understanding of FA disciplinary procedures and key regulation changes ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The Berks & Bucks Roadshow forms part of a national effort by The FA to engage with Clubs and Leagues ahead of the new season and promote its efforts to improve behaviour across the game. The roadshow will cover a range of topics, including steps The FA is taking to combat discrimination, how players and officials can report abuse, and the role of the County FA in the disciplinary process, including ways in which we support victims of misconduct.

Fraser Williamson, Senior Discipline Manager at The FA, said: "In a time where using our influence to deliver a game free from discrimination and delivering a positive football environment is at the forefront of our minds, it is crucial we ensure all participants are as educated as possible on the process by improving awareness on reporting, victim support and the disciplinary process as a whole."

As the local governing body for football the Berks & Bucks FA is responsible for ensuring that that the Rules and Regulations of The FA are applied consistently across that County and that the integrity of the game is upheld. By doing so, we make football a safer and more enjoyable environment for everyone.

Alastair Kay, Head of Governance at the Berks & Bucks FA, said: “The Berks & Bucks FA has a key role to play in making sure football remains an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all. While misconduct incidents are thankfully rare, they can have a massive impact on those involved. We want to make sure everyone knows how to report any concerns to us, and how we will support them through the process.”

The event is open to all Club Committee Members, League Committee Members and Match Officials and will last approximately 90-120 minutes. If you would like to attend, please complete our online registration form, where you can also submit questions in advance.
