BBFA receive award at FA National Inclusion Day

Organisation presented with Equality Standard Award

Earlier this year, Liz Verrall (CEO) and Simon Wears (FDM) attended the National Inclusion Day at St Georges Park. The days agenda was very comprehensive covering topics; from the FA Future Vision, Panel Q&A, ‘A Blueprint towards Inclusion’, The new FA Inclusion Plan & Mainstreaming & Equality through Strategic Leadership.

Greg Clarke (FA Chairman) opened up the days event with a welcome speech, Paul Elliot (FA Inclusion Advisory Board) was also present on the day as well as delivering.

During the day Liz Verrall was presented with our Equality Standard award (Preliminary Award). Nationally, there are 37 county FAs that have achieved the Equality Standard Foundation award, 11 that have achieved Preliminary Award and currently 1 that has been awarded the Intermediate award.

Our aim is to now work towards and achieve the Intermediate Award within the next 12 months. In order for ourselves to achieve this, there will be a thorough undertaking of equality audits that will be delivered and measured against our equality action plan.

Our own BBFA (IAG) Inclusion Advisory Group plays an important role with a strategic overview whilst being completely embedded into the County FA. Our IAG last met on Wed 25th April at Wycombe Wanderers FC to discuss key priorities over the next 12 months.

Our IAG meet quarterly throughout the year, if you would like to be involved and play a key role in inclusion work across the county please contact Simon.Wears@Berks-BucksFA.com
