Wildcats Festival

BBFA hold first Wildcats Festival

More than 70 girls took part in the county's first Wildcats Festival
More than 70 girls from SSE FA Wildcats Centres across Berks & Bucks attended a Wildcats Festival in Chalfont at the weekend.

Those attending the festival were from local Wildcats Centres in Ruislip, George Green, Chalfont, Chesham, Wendover, Wycombe, Flackwell Heath and Risborough and not even the hot weather could deter the girls experiencing their first real games of football.

Female referees oversaw the matches where no results were recorded and games were adjusted to ensure they were fair and engaging for all and, at the end of the day, each player received a trophy - all kindly donated by hosts Chalfont Saints.

SSE Wildcats centres provide girls aged from 5 to 11 with regular quite often their first opportunities to play football.  The sessions are tailored around fun games, enjoying sport and being with new friends they are in a fun, engaging and safe environment over a minimum 16 week period.

Our county FA have secured funding to run an additional 30 centres, so any clubs or organisations interested in delivering Wildcats and encouraging more female participation should express their interest via Development@Berks-BucksFA.com
