Job Vacancy - Football Development Officer

Berks & Bucks Football Association is seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual for the position of Football Development Officer in support of delivery of the National Game Strategy in partnership with key stakeholders within Berks & Bucks. The successful candidate will work from our highly regarded headquarters in Abingdon.

The position will report to the Football Development Manager and is a fixed term contract from the 1st March 2018 to the 30th June 2019 (subject to FA funding).

Berks & Bucks County FA is the Governing Body for football and leads the implementation of The FA National Game Strategy in the County. We are one of the largest County FA’s in the Country, serving in excess of 3,350 football teams and are about to embark on our 3rd year of the National Game Strategy leading us until 2019.

Specific areas of work will include:

  1. To support the delivery of the Berks & Bucks FA Strategy in line with the FA’s National Game Strategy.
  2. Football Development lead (increase and sustain playing participation and raise standards) within the West of the County which includes: South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse, West Berskhire, Reading and Wokingham.
  3. Act in the best interest of children and young people and be guided by the principle that the welfare of the child or young person is paramount in all decisions and actions taken.

The successful candidate will be passionate and committed to developing grassroots football within Berks & Bucks and have an understanding of the structure & development pathways at a local, regional and national level. They will be motivated to work individually and within a team and be willing to work flexible hours, and be able to plan, set, achieve and monitor objectives to meet deadlines. They will also have a creative and innovative approach to solving problems. The successful applicant will be based at the Berks & Bucks FA head-quarters.

Applicants must hold a full driving license and have access to own vehicle.
