Youth Council January 2018

The Re-Launch of the BBFA Youth Council

The Berks & Bucks FA are re-launching the BBFA Youth Council and want enthusiastic and passionate young people (aged 14 – 24) across Berks & Bucks...
Within Berks and Bucks we have over 2300 youth teams that exist to provide footballing opportunities for young people. Over recent years we have witnessed young people taking on more and more responsibility within the game and becoming involved in numerous areas including marketing/social media, refereeing, coaching and volunteering within clubs. In addition, our Football Futures programme and FA Community Awards have illustrated the talent and passion that young people in our County have for developing and improving standards within football.

The BBFA Youth Council will work together to give young people a voice within football and to identify and deliver projects aimed at enhancing the youth football experience across Berks & Bucks. Examples of projects which may take place in 2018 include:

- BBFA Twitter takeovers
- Organise and run Football Futures days
- Attending league meetings
- Organise and run a Girls Football festival
- Supporting Wildcats provision
- Hosting County Cup draws
- Supporting regional Futsal events

Young people involved in the BBFA Youth Council get the opportunity to develop a number of skills and gain practical experience in organising their own admin, planning projects, partnership work and attending a range of meetings in professional settings, whilst the Berks & Bucks FA benefit from fresh views and opinions from those that are involved in all aspects of Youth Football.

The BBFA will be holding initial information sessions for individuals interested in joining the BBFA Youth Council in various locations across Berks & Bucks. If you would like to book a place at a session, find out further information or you are unable to attend a session but would like to be involved, please contact Sam Wheeler.
