Ladies Transitional Festival

BBFA ran a transitional festival to support young female players stepping into U18 and ladies football.

Clubs brought players along who were making the step up and some played alongside seniors for the first time. The aim of the festival that was held at Burnham Grammar School, was to help alleviate any concerns parents and players may have.

The 7 aside tournament ensured at least 4 younger players were playing for a team at any time. Senior players were there to support and encourage the girls through the matches.  The event helped managers and coaches realise that their players were suitably equipped to step up.

Chesham U18 assistant manager Andrew Jackson said; ‘it is key to giving the younger players the confidence to step up, they go into the summer holidays knowing they can continue to play football next season in an environment they can enjoy and have no doubts about.'

Laurie Ali whose Caversham team won the tournament; ‘It was a relaxed and good feel festival which we all enjoyed.'
