Academy Referees take Centre Stage

On Friday 28th April Berks & Bucks Academy Referees took centre stage at Stadium MK to officiate MK Dons U15s V Manchester United U15s.

Referee Harry Tarrant, Assistants Dan Richardson, George Nagy and forth Official Aaron Ryan, officiated the above fixture in front of a crowd in excess of 3100.

Dan, George and Aaron have committed this season to referee MK Dons Youth Academy fixtures and were rewarded for their hard work and dedication with this prestigious end of season event.

Harry Tarrant who previously officiated at the MK Dons Referee Academy, has now achieved his recent promotion to Level 5.

Fellow academy referees and senior referees were also in attendance along with John Fenner Chair of Referees Committee. After the game the officials shared their experiences with fellow colleagues and family members in attendance.

Lisa Benn Referee Development Officer commented, "it was a great experience for the officials, giving them an insight into the requirements of officiating at the higher levels and within a professional stadium. It has been great to see their confidence grow and refereeing develop throughout the season. They did themselves proud in front of their friends and families! A big thanks must go to the staff at MK Dons stadium and Ben Couzens for this great opportunity."

With the season almost concluded, the youth academy will be commencing back in September- enjoy the close season.
