Berks & Bucks FA are pleased to confirm that Woodford Park will be hosting flexible U21 football starting Sunday 14th May.
Existing established clubs are invited to apply for the Woodford Park Under 21’s Invitational summer pilot, which will take the form of a transition league aimed at helping under 18 squads prepare for men’s football.
All matches will take place on a Sunday at a central venue (Woodford Park Leisure Centre) on an artificial 3G pitch. All games will use the 9v9 format with a number of key rule changes aimed at making football accessible and enjoyable for this age group, where recent statistics prove there is a dramatic decline in participation.
Following the summer pilot the primary objective is to continue to run the league during the 2017-18 season to help keep this age group in football.
Interested clubs should contact Stocker Soccer email@example.com before Friday 21st April 2017, with a provisional start date for the league set for Sunday 14th May.
"This creative solution aims to give young people a flexible opportunity to playing the beautiful game with their friends without the complexities that sometimes stops us all getting out and just enjoying ourselves on the pitch.
It is exactly this type of approach that will help secure the future of OUR game, FOR ALL."
