Berks & Bucks FA Grounds-Person of the Year Working Group are delighted to announce the winners of this Seasons 2016/17 Grounds-Person of the Year Awards.
Step 7 and below – Grendon Rangers FC, Grounds-man, Robin Taylor
"Everyone at Grendon Rangers FC is absolutely delighted that our extremely hard working grounds-man, Mr Robin Taylor, has for the second year in succession won the Berks and Bucks FA Grounds-man of the year award for clubs at step 7 and below. Robin puts in countless hours working on the pitch and the surrounding area which includes three youth team pitches.
Referees officiating at our first team matches in the Spartan South Midlands league almost invariably rate the pitch as excellent and as one visiting team recently commented in the local newspaper it" is a pleasure to play on such a well prepared surface".
We are indeed indebted to Robin and would like publicly to thank him and congratulate him on this prestigious award."
Grendon Rangers FC Chairman, Paul Jackman
Steps 5 & 6 – Windsor FC, Grounds-man, Lewis Clements
“We are delighted that our grounds-man Lewis Clements has been awarded Grounds-man of the Year for Step 5 and 6. It has always been very important for us to create the best playing surface possible and to have that recognised by the county FA means a lot to all at the football club”.
Windsor FC Chairman, Kevin Stott
Grendon Rangers FC and Windsor FC will be invited to send two club representatives to the Berks & Bucks FA Community Awards in June at Wycombe Wanderers FC where they will receive recognition for the Award.
Berks & Bucks FA would like to thank all clubs & volunteers who have entered in this year’s awards and all the volunteer ground-staff who are committed and work hard on improving grass pitches across the County.
