Club Affiliation Season 2017-18

The Berks and Bucks FA are pleased to announce affiliation arrangements for season 2017/18

The club affiliation window for season 2017-18 will open:
17th April 2017 for Professional/Step 1-7 Clubs
1st May 2017 for Non Step Clubs

The affiliation process will again be completed through the Whole Game System. There are a few changes to the affiliation process for this season.

1. FA Safeguarding for Committee Members
All Youth Club (a club with an U18 and below side) Chairpersons, Secretaries, and Welfare Officers must complete the online FA Safeguarding for Committee Members course in order for the club to affiliate.  This mandatory free course will take approximately 40 minutes. More information on this course and access to it can be found in the document below. Please note that the content is specific to the role of a committee member and as such, you will be required to complete this even if you have an in date Safeguarding Children certificate.

2. Under 5/6 Teams
Under 5/6 teams will now be affiliated as Development teams as part of the main affiliation application.  Each development team will require a named coach, who must hold a valid, FA-approved CRC issued within the last three years.

3. Personal Accident Insurance for Youth Clubs
All clubs are now required to purchase Personal Accident Insurance. This cannot be purchased directly through the affiliation process, so clubs must provide the County FA with proof of purchase before affiliation can be granted.  Additional information is available in the product guide below from our partner Bluefin.  Public Liability Insurance will continue to be offered by Bluefin through the County FA as part of the affiliation process.  You can elect to purchase insurance from an alternative provider, however it must provide coverage for at least £10 million and a copy of the insurance policy must be provided.

A full list of affiliation criteria can be found at the bottom of this article in the documents section. Please be aware that clubs must be affiliated in order to be allowed to participate in FA affiliated leagues.

Please also remember that all Club Welfare Officers and coaches assigned to youth teams must have a valid, FA-approved CRC issued within the last three years.  The Club Welfare Officer must also have completed an FA Safeguarding Children workshop and Club Welfare Officer Workshop. The affiliation will not be completed until these are in place.
