Berks & Bucks FA run 1st 4 Sport Coaching Qualifications

 

1st 4 Sport Level One Certificate in Coaching Football

 

Aimed at candidates over 16 years old who require a formal introduction to coaching football.  Upon successful completion, candidates are awarded the FA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football.  This course is ideally suited to those who are working with are working with children and young people.

Outcomes

 

·          Develop greater responsibility for their own learning and development

·          Coach the basic skills and techniques, and demonstrate an understanding of the principles of attack and defence through the use of practices and small sided games

·          Develop and appreciation of the coaching process, the needs of the player and related issues in Sports Science

·          Plan, conduct and evaluate a series of sessions showing progression

·          Ensure the health and safety of players and others within the coaching environment and be able to respond to any emergency

·          Establish positive working relationships and high standards of behaviour with players, other coaches, parents and officials

Stand Alone Coaching Courses

 

STAND ALONE LEVEL ONE COACHING COURSE CRITERIA

 

The minimum number of candidates for a Level One is 16 candidates and the maximum is 24. 

 

The cost of a stand alone course is £2350, which is fixed regardless of whether there are 16 or 24 candidates.  The total offers a discount of £8.00 per person (£147.00 instead of the £155.00 paid by candidate booking on an open course) if you have 16 candidates on your course and a discount of £57.00 per person (£98.00 instead of the £155.00 paid by a candidate booking on an open course) if you have 24 candidates on your course. 

 

We require a period of six weeks to organise the course.  Resource packs for the course will be ordered when the confirmed number of candidates is stated.  At this stage the club will be invoiced for £1175.00 (a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the cost of the course), which must be settled two weeks before the course starts.  The remaining 50% will be billed after the course has finished.

 

If you decide that you want to go ahead with the course, please decide how you would like it to run and get back to me with your plan.   I will then find tutors and an assessor for you and confirm your course.

 

 

STAND ALONE LEVEL TWO COACHING COURSE CRITERIA

 

Thank you for your enquiry about Stand Alone Level Two Coaching Courses. 

 

The minimum number of candidates for a Level Two Coaching Course is 16 candidates and the maximum is 24, however it is advised that the number of candidates does not fall below 20 (please note if you think the number of candidates will fall below 16, the course cannot go ahead.  Therefore please only commit to a course if you are sure you have enough candidates, as the course fee is non-refundable). 

 

Based on the cost of tutor and assessors’ fees and travelling expenses and the cost of resources, the cost of a stand alone Level Two Coaching Course is £7000.00, which is fixed regardless of whether there are 16 or 24 candidates.  

 

If you club is interested in running a Stand Alone Level Two Coaching Course, please contact the County Office to discuss the course with us.  You will be sent a booking form which you should complete and return with your payment.  On receipt of the form and payment you will be contacted by either a member of the Berks & Bucks Football Development Team or by one of our tutors who will arrange to visit your venue to carry out a risk assessment.  If the risk assessment is negative, you will be offered the chance to provide another venue.  If you cannot provide another venue, your payment will be returned to you.  However, if the risk assessment is positive the course will be registered and tutors confirmed.  We require a period of twelve weeks to organise the course, so please ensure that your booking form start date is at least twelve weeks from the date you submit your booking form.

 

All candidates must be aged 16 or over to participate in the courses.

Course Information

 

The FA Goalkeeping Course is a Level One Course introduced as the latest qualification in the Goalkeeping Coaching Education Structure.  The course has open access and is available to any person who wants to improve their technical knowledge of goalkeeping

Coaching Disabled Footballers Course

 

Pre-requisites

 

All candidates must be over 18 years old and have completed a minimum of their Level One Certificate in Football Coaching

 

This 6 hour course enables candidates to adapt their programmes to include disabled players in regular sessions at clubs, schools and associations.  The course will cover the following areas:

 

·         Applying coaching skills to meet the needs of players with a range of impairments

·         Basic communications skills

·         Appropriate terminology

·         Safety and medical considerations

·         Plan a range of coaching sessions

·         Use of the inclusive spectrum

 

The cost per candidate is: £35.00

Age Appropriate Coaching – Introductory Module

 

This initial module provides candidates with an introduction to the movement skills and technical aspects that provide an effective environment for players within the 5 – 11 year age group.

 

It is a 6 hour course that involves tutor led theory and practical activities with the opportunity for candidates to be involved in planning and leading sessions. The course is open to anyone over the age of 16 who wishes to gain experience in this field.

FA Youth Award – Module One (Developing the Environment)

 

This module provides candidates with further knowledge in their ability to define FUNdamental movement skills and develop an awareness of the key technical aspects and their impact on the development of players within the 5 – 11 age group. 

 

It is a 32 hour course running over 4 days that involves tutor led theory and practical activities with the opportunity for candidates to participate and deliver practical sessions.  The course will also pro vide the opportunity for a personal action plan for future development.

 

Pre-requisites

 

Candidates must hold a valid 1st4 Sport Certificate in Coaching (including up to date Safeguarding Children and Emergency Aid qualifications or be qualified teachers who have attended the Age Appropriate Course.

Emergency Aid Courses

 

This is a 3 hour emergency aid training course dealing with the following:

 

Approach to an incident & assessment of priorities

Checking responsiveness

Opening the airway

Check breathing and signs of life

Recovery position

Breathing for the casualty

Chest compressions

Combined heart-lung resuscitation

Control of bleeding, dressing of wounds and minimising shock

 

The course is open to anyone aged 14 years or over.

Safeguarding Children Workshops (previously called Child Protection Workshops)

 

This is a 3 hour workshop aimed at Coaches, Club Members, Referees and Club Welfare Officers dealing the protection of children within clubs.  It promotes best practice within a club and advises clubs and referees on how to recognise the signs of abuse and poor practice with clubs and referees, as well as offering advice to clubs and referees on how to take action should a case arise. 

The workshop is open to anyone aged 16 years or over.

The cost of all courses is £240.00 for up to the first 12 candidates and an additional £20.00 for each candidate thereafter up to a maximum of 24 candidates.

Welfare Officer Workshops

 

This is a 3 hour workshop specifically aimed at Club Welfare Officers and League Welfare Officers and follows on from the Safeguarding Children Workshop.  By the beginning of season 2009/2010 all affiliated clubs and leagues should have an appointed Welfare Officer who has attended both workshops.  Failure to do this will result in clubs and leagues being unable to affiliate.

This course is designed to support the development of your volunteers aged 14 – 18 and is aimed at Secondary School Teachers.

 

The course enables teachers to deliver the JFO Course to students within the school environment.
