FINCHAMPSTEAD YOUTH 4 v 3 PENN & TYLERS GREEN JUNIORS

This Final was played on the ground of Didcot Town Football Club, with the ground again being in an excellent condition for both teams to play on. The crowd was very large and with Penn & Tylers Green Juniors being the holders of the trophy, many were hoping that they could emulate the team from last seasonxs triumph.

As in previous seasonxs This Final was the most entertaining and exciting of all of this seasonxs Youth and Minor Cup Competitions. The match was a very evenly fought contest throughout with the Penn team opening the scoring during the first half, with both sides creating numerous chances but at half time the match still had only the one goal. Into the second half it was Finchampstead Youth who scored to level the match and then increased their lead to three goals. The Penn & Tylers Green Juniors could not make the most of their chances during this period, but scored two late goals in the last ten minutes of the match and could have easily taken the tie into extra time or have won the tie outright. However the Finchampstead Youth side stood firm and emerged as winners of the competition by four goals to three.
