CALIFORNIA 2 v 1 SANDHURST TOWN BOYS & GIRLS

The U14 Final Tie of this competition was played on the ground of the Abingdon Town Football Club and was the third Final of the day for the Association. With the match being a local derby there was a large crowd present to witness the excellent display of football provided by both teams.

As expected the match was an evenly fought contest throughout with both teams having opportunities to open their account. The Sandhurst side opened the scoring only for California to equalise and then take the lead in what proved to be the winning goal. The rain came during the second half, but this did not deter both teams from providing and excellent game of football for all present to witness and could easily have gone to extra time. With the final score being 2 - 1 to the California team, which made up for the Clubs disappointment in losing last seasons Under 13 Cup Final.
