Making Matchdays Safer

Two local initiatives are being launched in Berks and Bucks on January 31st, 2022 and will continue on from there.

The first initiative is running in conjunction with Buckinghamshire County Council and the various councils within Berkshire, under the title of Smokefree Sidelines.

This worthwhile campaign is aimed at making youth football pitches in Berks and Bucks smoke-free. We all know the harm that smoking causes and we all know that children will copy adult behaviour. Let’s make a conscious effort to remove that danger from our football pitches.

For more details, see the Smokefree Sidelines page linked below.

The second initiative, Safer touchlines, involves a relaunch of the Respect campaign, we only do positive.

We want to do all we can to encourage adults at youth football to be positive around the children and to eliminate the poor behaviour that is unfortunately seen somewhere every weekend.

Football for children should be safe and fun. Adults being positive is a major step towards that.

For more details, see the Safer Touchlines page linked below.
