New Berks & Bucks Disability Centre of Excellence

4:51 PM, Thursday, 22 July 10.

The Berks & Bucks Disability Centre of Excellence has now been established to provide additional coaching and competitive opportunities to the most talented disability players in the county. It is envisaged that the Centre will feed the most talented players into the regional and national disability specific squads e.g. The England Deaf Squad.

The Centre of Excellence currently operates two age groups – Under 14’s and Under 18’s, which caters for players aged 11-18 years old. All players must be registered disabled or have a Special Educational Needs (SEN) statement to be registered with the Centre of Excellence. All players can also be playing for a local grassroots club. The Centre currently caters for players with a range of disabilities including hearing and visual impairments, cerebral palsy, amputees and players with learning difficulties.

In the 2010/2011 season the Berks & Bucks Centre of Excellence squads will take part in the South East regional fixture programme and compete against other Centre of Excellence squads in the South East region. Training for both squads will take place weekly at Woughton on the Green Pavilion from 6.00pm – 7.30pm from September 2010 through to May 2011.

Centre of Excellence Trials will take place at:
