Discipline

Further details of The FA  Disciplinary processes will be posted on this page within next couple of weeks......

Football is played under The Laws of Association Football as laid down by the International Board of the Federation of International Football. If these laws are broken by those playing the game then there are disciplinary rules that must be applied by referees and administrators. It is therefore necessary for referees / match officials to enforce the Laws of the Game and see they are adhered to. Players and coaches have a duty to see the game is played within these Laws and in the right spirit ,otherwise they will fall foul of the disciplinary punishments as laid down by The Football Association.

The current administration fee for ALL raised charges is £8. This must be paid within 14 days of the date of notification. There is no appeal against a caution except in the case of mistaken identity. Any cases or alleged cases of mistaken identity must be made to the County Football Association in writing within 14 days of the match date by the club and the player. The matter will then be investigated. Initially it is the club's responsibility to pay the fine and complete the caution form, giving full details of the player. Players over 16 years of age must then reimburse the club. Any other clubs he plays for should also be included on the form.

PLEASE NOTE:
When disciplinary monies are returned to us, there have been an increasing number of forms not filled in correctly and this has resulted in them having to be returned to the Club Secretary. We need the full name of the player, address, date of birth and any other clubs for which he/she plays.

If you receive a form and the player has a minus (-) beside their name, under participant details, it means we have no information at all about the player apart from his/her name.

All amendments, changes etc must be made on the right hand side of the form. Unfortunately without the requested information we are unable to process any fines and the paperwork will be returned to the secretary to be correctly filled in. This will then normally result in the forms being returned late upon which a late payment fine will be imposed. It is in your interest to send them off correctly to begin with. If anyone has any queries about how to fill in the form, please give us a call at the County Office, on option 2.

A player, club official or a club has the right of appeal against any charge levied. The cost of a personal hearing is £100 for those teams playing with match based discipline at Steps 5, 6 & 7. For those under Step 7 who still have days suspension imposed the fee is £25. If the charge is subsequently found proved then the club/player/official will also be required to pay the adjusted costs, [usually between £30 - £60] of the hearing as well as losing their personal hearing fee. If the result of the hearing is that the charge is NOT proven, then the submitted fee [£100 / £25] is returned to the club.

Clubs which fail to return acknowledgement forms and monies owed by the due date will be subject to additional fines. This could in turn result in the suspension of the whole club should the rules not be adhered to. These additional / late fines and suspensions are automatically imposed by the FA administration system that is used by ALL County FA’s.
